My Country's Country Song
“I got a country heart but I live in the UK
Croydon’s far from Tennessee,
No dusty road when I go for a drive
Prius windows down on the M25”
One of the first impacts of the covid pandemic was the cancellation of the Country 2 Country music festival in London that my friend and I went to for the last two years and were very excited about year 3. We started to brainstorm what a country song would look like from the UK’s perspective rather than the US. This is the product of that silliness!
In a classic me fashion, it was finished at 4am when I was trying and failing to sleep.
I might add some sort of a tune at some point but, for the moment. it’s a poem.
